Biography

Qi Qiang: Associate Chief Physician, Department of Burn and Plastic Surgery, The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University. He graduated from Suzhou Medical College in 1982 and has practiced medicine for 30 years, with extensive clinical diagnostic and treatment experience. He specializes in minimally invasive cosmetic procedures such as wrinkle removal, eye bag removal, liposuction, breast augmentation, and perineal procedures; body surface organ reconstruction; burn surgery; and hand surgery, including the diagnosis and treatment of complex hand injuries and functional reconstruction, microsurgery, repair of refractory wounds and traumatic tissue defects, burns, electrical burns, and heat-press injuries. He currently serves as a member of the Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology Branch of the Jiangsu Medical Association; a member of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Branch of the Jiangsu Association of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine; a member and group secretary of the Burn and Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Surgery Branch of the Suzhou Medical Association; and a member of the Hand Surgery Branch of the Suzhou Medical Association, among other positions. In 1997, he pursued further training in burn surgery at the PLA Burn Center, Changhai Hospital Affiliated to the Second Military Medical University; in 2004, he pursued further training in plastic and aesthetic surgery at the PLA Plastic Surgery Center, Xijing Hospital Affiliated to the Fourth Military Medical University. He has received one Third Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one Third Prize of the Ministry of Health Science and Technology Progress Award, one National Utility Model Patent, two Second Prizes of the Ministry-level Science and Technology Progress Award of the China National Nuclear Corporation, two Second Prizes of the Medical New Technology Introduction Award of the Provincial Department of Health, one Third Prize of the Suzhou Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award, and one Third Prize of the Suzhou Municipal Medical New Technology Introduction Award. He has published more than 20 papers. In 2009, he was named a Bethune Advanced Individual, and in 2010, he was selected as one of the Top Ten Doctors of The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University.
